T. Boone Pickens, the ‘Oracle of Oil’ dies at 91

A legend in the oil business T. Boone Pickens Jr. is dead. the oracle of oil died on Wednesday at 91.

The one time Forbes billionaire died after being in declining health.

Pickens was a hedge fund founder and a philanthropist.

Jay Rosser said that T. Boone Pickens died of natural cause around some family members and friends.

He is one of the many American billionaires who love returning to charity, he donated over $1 billion to charity. Even when he dropped from the Forbes top 400 billionaires list, he was still happy he had something for charity.

T. Boone Pickens donated over $1 million dollars to his alma mater – Oklahoma State University.

He founded Mesa Petroleum in 1956, this is the first oil business he established after choosing to follow his father’s oil business line.

After watching mesa petroleum drop in natural gas price, Pickens established hedge fund focusing on energy equities and commodities in 1996.

In 2008 Pickens decided to focus more on cleaner energy. He launched the ‘Pickens Plan’ because he wanted the U.S. to reduce the rate of dependence on foreign oil.

However, BP Capital was shuttered because Pickens said he needed more time to focus on his health.

T. Boone Pickens Jr is among the many American billionaires that backed  George W. Bush and Donald Trump during their campaigns.

The main cause of his death is not known yet, as his spoke person says he has died a natural death.

His net worth is not known by anyone. However, you need to kindly note that he survived by 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Pickens got married to 5 women, however, he was not married at the time of his death.

He pleaded to donate 90% of his net worth to charity upon his death.
